Rose Quartz is a pink variety of quartz with a hardness of 7. It is found widely around the world including large deposits in South Dakota in the USA. Usually massive, it rarely forms in clusters.

Metaphysically, Rose Quartz is known as the premier stone for the heart chakra. Emanating the pure Pink Ray, it is said to to stimulate the opening of the heart for the healing of the emotions and the expansion of one's capacity to love oneself and others. It is used for soothing stress, calming fears and quieting angers. In meditation or daily wear, it increases the feeling of benevolence and compassion towards all beings.
