Obsidian is a silica rich volcanic rock which can contain various mineral deposits. Often glassy in appearance and the colour can range from black, dark brown or dark grey.
The frequency of Black Obsidian connects to the Earth star and base chakras and is an excellent grounding stone. Black Obsidian helps to eliminate and cleanse one's energy fields of all negativity and then protect one's energy fields by creating a shield around one's being. Thus aiding one to stay centred and to dispel any negative emotional patterns or thought forms that may be preventing one from moving forward.
Highly polished Black Obsidian is used to make "Scrying" mirrors that can be used to help communicate with Souls (Spirits) residing in another dimension and by receiving visual or mental images or thoughts.
