Amber is the fossilized, hardened resin of the pine tree. It is found in Poland and the Dominican Republic and has a hardness of 2 to 2.5. Amber becomes electrically charged when rubbed with a cloth. It has been used for jewellery since prehistoric times and has long been used in folk medicine.

Mystic Lore: Intuitive sources say that Amber transmutes negative energies into positive, calms one's nerves, enlivens one's disposition, purifies one's energies and instills an inner sense of warmth. It is also said to promote good health.
