Opal is a hydrated silica mineral which comprises of microscopic spheres of silica which are bound together with water and silica. There are two forms of Opal, common and precious. The latter exhibits "fire" which is the result of the silica spheres forming a regular pattern within the crystalline matrix that can diffuse light. Common Opal is normally opaque the colour range including white, blue, pink, yellow, yellow/orange, brown or black.

Blue Opal is a variety of common Opal. The colour ranges from pale blue to mid-blue.

The frequency of Blue Opal connects to the throat and third eye chakras. It allows one to be calm and centred by stilling one's mind of any overactivity or restless thoughts, thus aiding with meditation.

The energy of Blue Opal opens the third eye chakra so that one may receive and understand spiritual guidance and to follow such guidance with a spiritual "open-ness". Thus helping one to be accepting of one's life.

Via the throat chakra Blue Opal helps to soothe respiratory inflammation issues such as coughs and allergies. It also helps to relieve other inflammatory conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
